Boats and currents are two common factors associated with many dive sites. Boaters do not always recognize that divers are in the area and the current may carry you further than expected. Launching a DSMB before surfacing can alert others to its location before its ascent.
Marker buoys serve a variety of purposes and you will learn about the common types of DSMB along with the reels used to control them.
– Preparation and storage of your DSMB and spool.
– Deployment of the DSMB from a stationary position and in the middle of the water.
– Swim while towing a DSMB and managing the reel and line.
– Make a safety stop using the DSMB line.
